Thirsty for spring

I discovered Orangette yesterday.  Some of you may have already heard, but let me tell you anyway. Mollly Wizenberg had an epiphany in Paris while researching a PhD thesis.  On returning home, she realized she didn't want to write for college professors and grant comittees anymore. So one day, while eating chocoloate coated candied orange peels at her computer, she realized that what she really wanted to do is write about how much she loves food. As a result, she's now a feature columnist with Bon Appetit; has just released a book; and enjoys a life that revolves around scrumptious treats.

It crossed my mind that of all my good friends, I can't name a single one who has become victim of the status quo. I think we are all, in our own ways, pursuing Molly's dream.

In a fit of inspiration I charged my camera batteries and took photos in my apartment for over an hour. Thats saying a lot for a 490 sq.ft room. Then I went outside to catch the waning light of evening hours. While I'm not much of a photographer, I did have a lot of fun finding objects to pose for me. I also realized that I have a lot of cool stuff in my apartment.

Perhaps its the blossoming dogwoods or the sight of plump red cherry tomatoes at the market, but I feel thirsty for inspiration--and this margarita.  I'll be making them soon if you want to join...

The Salt Shaker has the Ooh La la look on his silly little face, while the pepper shaker, well let's just say, she looks a bit coquetish. What a splendid photo shoot. I am so happy that you found a friend in Organette. Your Maman will never be status quo, I give you my word.

I love you!
