Farmer Joe

What you're seeing there is the biggest, most sumptuous head of butter leaf lettuce to ever grace my table. Farmer Joe pulled this little beauty out of our very own garden tonight. It's been a long time since I grew anything that was actually edible. I'm a real hit or miss gardener. But Joe, on the other hand, managed to transform a puny little seedling into this enormous bunch of delicate greens with seemingly very little effort.   What happened next was even more amazing.

mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Josh and Jane: If you're reading this, you better believe we'll be eating one of these when you arrive.  Assuming those damn worms don't eat it first. See you soon?

This photo inspired me to purchase some radishes and dress my salads up with a touch of spicy red. While relishing in the peppery crunch of these marvelous little gems, I apparently forgot to chew one, and it slipped down my throat. The radish disc nearly killed me! Can you imagine, dying from a radish disc. I challenge those following this blog to create the perfect epitaph for this girzzly method of inducing death. Radishes are as dangerous as the hot dog disc. There should be a warning on the stem. They get lodged and there is no give to them at all. Oh my god, did I use the word radish in the same sentence as Hot Dog? Shame on me. In the future, I will eat more mindfully and savor the flavors like there is no tomorrow. Thank you for this photo. I think.

I never imagined a photo of salad could produce such dramatic results. I'm glad you didn't die. But if you had:
